I love stopping here to listen to the old music that became country and modern bluegrass. Stop in and learn the history of mountain music, you might be surprised!
I and a friend want up to blue ridge parkway yesterday. It was foggy damp and i have never seen fog so heavy but the trees at the music center were beautiful. I took a few pictures before the fog rolled down mountains and hide the trees. I well go back again and. Soon before it snows. Parking is not at the center. You have to park and walk to the center. Walking for the handicap will be hard but can be done. Someone will have drop off the handicap person at the center and than park the vehicle and walk back to the center. But I really love this. I will go again.
Nice historical information about the region and music. Interesting souvenirs. Large parking lot. Good hiking trails nearby
Fun place. Well kept. I always found some local bands / groups playing good bluegrass music. One of the few places on blue ridge parkway with bathrooms. Take advantage of this:) should visit while in the great blue ridge parkway.
Interesting place, leaned a lot I did not know about music history of this region. Be sure you visit between 12pm-4pm so you can catch some of the locals performing the music. I could have sat there all afternoon.
